What's everyone up to this weekend? We've got a few fun things on the agenda, including painting all our exterior window trim. Isn't that the most fun ever? Don't you just love doing that?
I'm hoping that if I say that enough, I'll actually start to believe it.
In other breaking news, I started watching Gilmore Girls a few weeks ago and why, oh why, have I never watched this show before! I love it so much! Yes, it's totally obnoxious and cheesy, but I can not get enough. My only question: Is it just me, or do Rory and Loreli drink a ridiculous amount of coffee? I feel like they are always, always, always drinking coffee. I don't know how they can sleep after spending their day drinking all that coffee. I would be an insane person if I had that much coffee. Certifiably.
Anyways, in addition to Gilmore Girls and painting windows (still not there), here are few other things I'm loving this week.
1. Yesterday, Callum's two BFF's spent the morning at our house while both of their mommas had other things going on. We had such an amazing time. You may remember these cute faces from our last trip up north. It has been so much fun watching these boys grow together these past two years, and I hope to watch them continue to do so for the next 50.
"Hey Callum. We'd appreciate it if you put your pants on for our photoshoot."
2. I came across this article (The Anguish of Being a Mother) and just had to pass it along. Share it with a momma you love. So many feels. From the article:
Forever and ever, as long as you live, someone else matters more than you. And you are now the protector of life, the healer of wounds, and the only one who makes that little one feel completely safe. Because after all, he came out of the safest place he'll ever know, and you might for a second wish you could have kept him inside your fortress of a body, for just a little longer.
3. Milwaukee's Irish Fest is this weekend!! Who's going to be there? *Hand raised high!!*
We love Irish Fest so much. Before my dad passed away, he was a Fest volunteer for 29 years. I spent many years dancing with the Trinity Irish Dancers growing up. And, my mom is a member of the Irish Currach Club of Milwaukee. So, the Fest holds great, great memories. One of my favorites to watch is always the Red Hot Chili Pipers. Yes, they exist. And, yes, they are awesome!

4. This week, I made The Pioneer Woman's Chickpea Curry for dinner. You guys. So simple. So delicious. I would definitely recommend it if you're looking for a good weeknight dinner recipes. (Story of my life.) Matt is not the biggest chickpea fan, so I ended up halving the amount of chickpeas, and adding some shredded chicken, and it worked out splendidly. Everyone in the household was happy.
Photo from the Pioneer Woman's site. My photo just did not do the recipe justice.
Here's to a spectacular weekend, everybody!! See you on Monday!
I can't believe you're just now watching Gilmore Girls! I love that show. Brookelyn has been watching it a bit here and there over the past few months and loves it too.
ReplyDeleteWe have never been to Irish Fest! Not sure we'll make it this year, since this weekend is supposed to be hot & humid. But, maybe next year? Hopefully!
We need to get together soon!
